Application Overview
Why Carbon Quality Matters in CIP and CIL
CIP and CIL circuits are harsh working environments for activated carbon. The carbon moves through slurry tanks, pumps, screens and recovery systems every day.
If the carbon breaks easily, it can generate fine carbon particles. These carbon fines may be difficult to recover and can carry adsorbed gold out of the circuit.
That is why gold plants usually check more than iodine value. Hardness, abrasion loss, ash content, particle size distribution and carbon durability are also important before bulk purchase.
Coconut shell activated carbon is commonly used in gold recovery because it offers strong particle strength, low ash content and stable adsorption performance.
