Gold recovery activated carbon for CIP and CIL circuits

Application Overview

Why Carbon Quality Matters in CIP and CIL

CIP and CIL circuits are harsh working environments for activated carbon. The carbon moves through slurry tanks, pumps, screens and recovery systems every day.

If the carbon breaks easily, it can generate fine carbon particles. These carbon fines may be difficult to recover and can carry adsorbed gold out of the circuit.

That is why gold plants usually check more than iodine value. Hardness, abrasion loss, ash content, particle size distribution and carbon durability are also important before bulk purchase.

Coconut shell activated carbon is commonly used in gold recovery because it offers strong particle strength, low ash content and stable adsorption performance.

Where It Is Used

CIP/CIL Gold Recovery Applications

01

CIP Gold Recovery

Activated carbon adsorbs dissolved gold after leaching. Good hardness helps reduce breakage during agitation and screening.

02

CIL Gold Recovery

In CIL systems, leaching and adsorption happen together. The carbon stays in slurry for a long time, so abrasion resistance matters.

03

Heap Leaching Adsorption

For heap leaching projects, coconut shell activated carbon can be used in downstream gold adsorption systems, depending on solution condition and plant design.

Information Needed for Quotation

Send Your Gold Recovery Carbon Requirement

To recommend the right coconut shell activated carbon for your gold plant, please send:

  • Application: CIP, CIL or heap leaching
  • Required particle size
  • Target iodine value or current TDS
  • Quantity
  • Destination port
  • Packing requirement

We will provide a suitable grade, technical documents and quotation for your review.

Recommended Starting Point

For most CIP and CIL applications, 6×12 mesh high-hardness coconut shell activated carbon is a common starting grade. 8×16 mesh can also be matched when the plant design or screen system requires it.
